Made it as far as Sloan, Iowa, home of the WinneVegas Casino. I don’t know how we did it either. I was so tired the whole way. I only got about three hours of sleep last night due to the “chain sawing” going on in my bedroom.
I don’t really have anything to report as I was too tired to notice much of anything. I’m amazed we made it through Kansas City and Council Bluffs. Give all the credit to Garmin Girl. I had to stop twice to take a nap or I was going to fall off the bike I was so tired.
Lyle forgot to bring any sunscreen and at the end of the day he looked a little red even with his helmet on. He said he was also tired but he couldn’t have been near as tired as I am. It was pretty hot for a good part of the way and he ended up taking his jacket off and riding in his t-shirt.
The bikes did well. Mine averaged right at 40 miles per gallon for the entire way. I don’t think Lyle kept track of his.
Garmin Girl says we traveled 499.6 miles but my odometer says we only went 457 miles. One of them is wrong. My money is on the odometer on bike being wrong. Garmin Girl is much too smart to make an error like that.
Our overall speed was 50.1mph and our moving average was 65.2mph. In case you were wondering. That means we must have been moving a lot faster than 65 most of the time.
I hope I got everyones email address added to the blog. If I didn’t get your email in there and you aren’t getting these updates, then let me know :)
We’re supposed to meet for breakfast at 6am tomorrow so I’m going to bed.
We stopped for lunch in Belton at the Wendys. But Sharon already knew that without me telling her. Plus, if you were tracking us on the SPOT ME web page, you saw that we were stopped for a while in Belton.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. I’m off to bed.
In case you missed it, this is the web page for tracking:
